As the Managing Director of Ascent Property Company, Alec guides company-wide objectives by tracking and responding to dynamic micro- and macro-economic trends in the student housing and mixed-use real estate sectors. Over the past eight years, Alec has built the processes, systems, and best practices that have driven the company’s rapid growth. He continues to spearhead Ascent’s strategic growth and organizational initiatives.

An eight-year veteran of the student housing sector, Alec founded Amplify Development Company in 2017 and has since led the delivery of several premier student housing projects. His experience working alongside key industry leaders helped shape Ascent’s approach and positioned the company as an innovative thought leader in the space.

Before founding Ascent, Alec spent nine years with CenterCal Properties, where he led acquisition, development, construction, and lease-up efforts for more than $500 million in high-profile shopping center projects across California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Intermountain region. He brings deep experience working with top institutional equity and debt partners.

Originally from Boston and Denver, Alec earned his degree from the USC Marshall School of Business. He has lived in Los Angeles for the past 18 years and resides with his family in the Hancock Park/Windsor Square area.
